[she does listen, slowing her breaths to calm herself, but as soon as it has started to succeed she hardens again, casting an annoyed glare in his direction.]
I am not the right guy to give a science lesson. [ SIGHS
and gives it a try anyway. ] It's like lightning, but harvested and used as a power source. I'm not an engineer, I don't know exactly how it works, but it's just science. For things like that [ gestures at the toy ] it would just use batteries.
I'm interested in finding out the quality of the beef bowl here. You try some and tell me if it's actually decent, while I have this you gave me.
[Then, like it's meant to make it more enticing:]
There's nothing better than a good beef bowl, so if you think about it, you're getting the better part of the deal.
[Deal Jiaoqiu already agreed to, but yeah. At least Akihiko is trying to get some form of agreement before getting that promised beef bowl because he has some manners]
[ Among the newly awakened angels is a three-eyed young lady. Bewildered, she blinks at the strange surroundings primarily with her lower two eyes. The upper one doesn't seem to blink with them. Her halo, at some angles, may look like a pair of antennae or perhaps a little sprout growing out of her head.
On the "ground" nearby is a very large, metallic lance with gold detailing. There's a brief glimpse of alarm in her face, but then she sweeps out her hand in the air above it, as if to beckon it to her hand.
Nothing happens.
She does it again. Nothing continues to happen. After a moment she finally gives up on vaguely gesturing and bends down to actually pick up the stupidly large lance. ]
[ ii. greeting ]
[ After having a few moments to orient herself, the young lady turns her attention to one of the strangers here, waving one hand eagerly while the other holds the lance steady and upright. ]
Oh, hello! I beg your pardon... Would you happen to know where we are right now?
[ There's a hopeful look on her face as she looks at you with all three of her eyes. ]
[ iii. menu ]
[ At some point, she will find the cafe and peruse the touchscreen menu while still holding her very large lance in her other hand. ]
"Chicken nuggets"... Er... [ She whips her head away from the menu to gaze out at the vast emptiness through the cafe window, then slowly looks back to the "chicken nugget forest" with deep contemplation and concern. ]
... But... where does the chicken come from?
[ iv. wildcard ]
[ Gimme a starter and I'll roll with it! Or PC me. ]
[ Ah, the polite brief bow has them dipping their head just a little in response, a bit awkwardly like they aren't used to such introductions in that manner. ]
Mm, nice to meet you, Taair. [ Thinking of the whole situation though... they still offer a smile. ] Despite the situation and all, right?
he seems pleasantly, if mildly, surprised by the question, before inclining his head slightly. ]
Of course, miss. I would hardly say no to another set of eyes and some company - though I'm not sure we'll be able to see much, given the landscape as it stands.
[that's not going to do the trick. it will definitely leap up - more like a dog boldly trying to steal your dinner out of your hands than a vicious creature, but it does have a nasty curved beak and claws.]
Stop it!
[she will try to grab it around the neck.]
It's an owlbear cub. Don't just stand there gawking.
[ something about that seems to please him, and he laughs a little, dipping his head in a polite greeting, elegant. ]
And there's hardly a worry! It's a pleasure, Jiaoqiu - I've never heard a name quite like that, before. [ hand to heart: ] ...my name's Taair. Just Taair. It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir Jiaoqiu.
