[His mind instantly races through all of the options that could possibly explain how someone doesn't know about a smartphone. Maybe he's lived under a rock for a few decades, or maybe he's one of those people who doesn't use technology. Or he could just be really, really old and set in his ways too, Ali supposes.
In the end the reason doesn't matter though, and Ali will help this man regardless.]
It's a phone. I guess they're technically called mobile phones, but language has evolved rapidly and most people just call them phones now. You can use them to call people, send messages to someone, or even play games. These ones look like they can take pictures too.
[ he's oblivious to this turmoil that he's caused, and is instead a patient listener as he pulls his own phone out from his egg's nest box to examine it with a quiet interest. ]
I see, so that would be the Kamera lens there... [ he's looking at the back of it. ] And it would function a bit like the shop's screen, I suppose, considering its glass surface?
And there isn't overly much for us to be taking pictures of, it seems, save for a surplus of food that someone keeps ordering and messes being made of facilities.
But, likewise, fortunate that people will always be people. Otherwise there would not have been anyone to explain the screen in the shop, or the phones.
I can't say I'm surprised that we've experienced both sides of people in such a short amount of time.
The good news is that we may pay forward that help. Should someone ask, I'll explain what the screen and the phones are for, and give a demonstration of what I've learned.
[ we're a community now! even if we don't want to be. ]

[Given how many people here are staring at their phones or the order screen in confusion.]

Thank you for that, Mister...?
