None taken, I assure you - I'd be more worried if you wanted one.
[ :stressed: but there's a tug at the corner of his mouth that suggests he also thinks its funny, mostly at his own expense. ]
All joking aside... I do usually have access to magic. It does make sense - the majority of it is focused in healing, and... if we're dead, I guess there's not really much need for that anymore, is there?
No, that's not the case... I did see a young lady with a bruise on her face, earlier.
[ he reaches up and lightly taps his own cheek. ]
But... I suppose if this is the Heavens, then the Radiance's light would, by scripture, protect those beneath it in eternity, forevermore. But, scripture is no primary source, so... that must be taken with a large grain of salt, particularly when presented with physical doubt...
It does seem a bit cruel, to be dead and still be able to be hurt. Then again, I suppose to be breathing at the moment is enough of a miracle...
Ah. Well, according to the Light of Sanctuary, the Radiant [ i typoed earlier because i am stupid and holding my lore scraps pathetically ] is the god of all of our lands. The story goes that if you die, your soul passes on to be judged by the Radiant, and that you'll then live out eternity in the kingdom of Its light, or be punished into eternal damnation, depending.
[ he says this relatively lightly, not with any holy reverence or anything. it just kind of is. ]
It's rare to hear someone say they've never heard of it! Something I'm certainly still getting used to.
I don't think the afterlife is concerned about mortal borders, so I get a feeling there's going to be a lot of people with different deities and notions about what lies after death.
[ Tapping the protrusion in thought. ]
That sounds pretty much like the faiths back where I come from though. It's kind of interesting how this can remain so similar across so many different worlds.
Isn't it? [ interesting, that is - taair huffs, his expression warming immediately, in something like fascination. ]
That there could be multiple worlds - what a fascinating, wonderful concept. It's a bit concerning, how small-minded my studies have been, though, I guess I didn't know any better... though as we're all sitting here, it is a wonderful learning opportunity.
[ which is!! the best!! ]
I should like to hear about yours - whether the faith, or the world back home itself. Though, perhaps after introductions...?

It's alright. I wasn't expecting it to be that easy anyway. I'm guessing you usually have magic available to you?
no subject
Well, yes, but... I guess I'm really more of a lover than a fighter? Haha... ha.
[ this is
a joke ]

OKAY?
Trying really hard not to burst out laughing again. ]
Yeah, I think I'm going to skip on asking a demonstration of that. No offence.

You mean that you don't think we can get injured?

[ Puts a hand on his hip, looking up toward... more sky.
... Oh well! Looks over at Taair. ]
So, who's "the Radiance"?

I'd be happy to have an exchanging of minds with you. [ Gesturing to the cafe. ] But you're right, it might be a better to talk over tea.
And speaking of introductions, I'm Claude.
